Here are some United Kingdom airport frequencys

Airport                                                                                        Frequency's

What equipment is needed to be able to listen to one of many different bands which are used

Personally i done a lot of research into buying a radio scanner as some scanners can listen to more frequency's  then others.
All mobile scanners come with an antenna, however i decided into looking in to a mobile antenna for my handheld scanner which allows me better reception.
I allowed my self one hundred pounds to purchase some scanning hardware as well as an air band scanner frequency manual.
i decided to purchase an Uniden Radio Scanner and well as a mag mount antenna.

What is purpose and reason for this blog????

The purpose and reason for this blog is to make people aware about listening to a frequency scanner to be able to listen to air band frequency which is what a pilot in a cockpit will inform air traffic control on whilst in flight.
Listening to aircraft is one of my best past times. The only reason I wanted to use it was with the use of a flight tracker and then i decided it would be even better to be able to listen to aircraft which showed up on my flight tracking software
And I am able to pick aircraft which use Stansted Airport as well as the  flight path and holding pattern for Heathrow Airport, which is over 50 miles from the area of which I live in.
